Based on a Shared Vision

Baptist High School Benin Alumni in Diaspora (BHSBAID) was founded on a shared vision: to reconnect old students of Baptist High School Benin living across the globe and to give back to the institution that shaped our early academic and moral foundation. What began as a simple conversation became a purpose-driven movement, officially launched in 2020 following a series of impactful meetings and engagements with alumni from North America, the UK, and Europe.

Our mission was born out of a desire to create a supportive, forward-thinking platform where alumni abroad could fellowship, network, and collectively contribute to the continued growth of Baptist High School Benin. Recognizing the need to align with legal frameworks and regional expectations, our members voted unanimously to establish an independent body—BHSBAID—dedicated to academic excellence, institutional support, and global impact.

Since our official inauguration on August 2nd, 2020, we have built a strong and committed network of alumni united by our school’s timeless motto: “Education for Selfless Service.” Today, BHSBAID stands on the following pillars:

  • Fostering a global fellowship among Baptist High School Benin alumni in the diaspora.

  • Supporting the academic goals and institutional vision of our alma mater.

  • Leveraging professional expertise of members to drive educational advancement.

  • Providing resources and scholarships that empower current students to compete on a global scale.

  • Promoting social responsibility and civic engagement, ensuring that our legacy continues through service.

Our Vision

We envision a thriving global network of Baptist High School alumni, united in our pursuit of excellence, mutual support, and collective progress. Through our efforts, we aim to make a positive impact on our alma mater,  communities and inspire future generations.

Our Mission

BHSBAID aims to foster a sense of community, promote cultural heritage, and support the growth and development of our alma mater. We strive to create opportunities for networking, mentorship, and collaboration among members.

SCHOLARSHIP AWARD 2023

Empowering the Next Generation of Leaders

The Scholarship Award 2023 celebrates academic excellence and supports ambitious students in achieving their educational goals. This prestigious award recognizes outstanding individuals who have demonstrated exceptional academic performance, leadership potential, and a commitment to making a positive impact in their communities. Through financial assistance and mentorship, the Scholarship Award 2023 is dedicated to helping tomorrow’s changemakers thrive.

SCHOLARSHIP AWARD FUNDRAISER 2022

Fueling Dreams Through Giving

In 2022, BHSBAID hosted an exciting raffle draw fundraiser with a grand prize of a car donated to the organization — all in support of its mission to provide life-changing scholarships to deserving students in Nigeria.

The event brought together alumni, supporters, and friends of Baptist High School Benin in a spirited show of generosity and community impact. Each ticket purchased was more than a chance to win — it was a direct investment in a student’s future.

Thanks to your support, the fundraiser raised significant funds that helped cover tuition, materials, and academic support for multiple scholarship recipients.

🚗 One lucky winner drove away in a car. Countless students moved one step closer to their dreams.

Thank you for being part of this meaningful journey!

Meet Our BHSBAID Benin Co-ordinator

At BHSBAID, the Scholarship Coordinator plays a vital role in ensuring the smooth and transparent management of our scholarship program.

This role involves gathering and organizing important information about scholarship recipients and alumni supporters. The coordinator also serves as the primary liaison between the alumni and the students, helping to maintain strong communication and support throughout the academic year.

Part of the responsibilities includes verifying student results to ensure they meet the academic standards required for continued support. The coordinator also oversees the prompt payment of monthly stipends to recipients and ensures they receive the necessary resources to stay focused on their education.

Additionally, the coordinator leads the planning and execution of key events, including the annual Scholarship Award Ceremony — a special occasion that brings the BHSBAID community together to celebrate academic achievement and alumni generosity.

Through this position, the coordinator helps uphold the mission of BHSBAID.
